The person behind TravelBits

About Me

I design digital products for a living. My days are spent mapping out screens and interactions for people I’ll never meet.

But the experiences that actually taught me something? They happened offline. Usually in a dead-end alley where my GPS signal gave up.

"I don't believe in hidden gems. I believe in showing up, paying attention, and being honest about what you find."

โ€” The reason this blog exists

Why This Honest Travel Blog Exists

Before I visited Cambodia, I researched for months. I watched every video. I read every guide. When I arrived in Siem Reap, I realised most of it was fiction. The heat wasn’t just hot โ€” it was a physical weight. The crowds weren’t just busy โ€” they were a wall of noise. And no one had mentioned any of it.

Travel content is often just a brochure with better photos. I wanted something that felt like the dirt on my shoes.

I’ve been to more than 30 countries as an independent traveller. I don’t use affiliate links. I don’t take sponsorships. This is a travel blog built on unfiltered travel experiences โ€” the sweat and the moments that actually felt real.

Real Travel Advice: What You'll Find Here

These guides are built from my own notes, not marketing briefs or SEO checklists. This is real travel advice from someone who shows up, pays attention, and writes it down.

I look for the specific light at 5am. The way a city sounds when it wakes up. I’ll tell you if that famous temple is just a crowded parking lot with good PR.

I don’t sell dreams. I give you the details so you can handle the reality โ€” and enjoy it more because you’re prepared.

“The way a city sounds when it wakes up. That’s what I’m looking for.”
