The Fine Print
Here’s what most blogs won’t tell you:
- “Used at least once” matters. Some countries want proof you’ve actually entered the UK. A transit flight through Heathrow counts.
- Tourist visas have limits. Costa Rica only accepts work or student visas. Mexico and Panama want 6-month validity, so a standard 6-month tourist visa won’t cut it—you need longer.
- BRP/ILR gets you more. If you have permanent residence or a work visa, you unlock places like Sint Maarten and Costa Rica.
- GCC countries are opening up. Bahrain, Qatar, and Kuwait now offer special access to UK visa holders. This is newer, so double-check requirements before booking.
- Transit rules are strict. South Korea and Singapore only work if you’re actually transiting to/from the UK or other eligible countries. You can’t just do a round trip from Dhaka.
